Software Engineers perform development work across the technology stack (both front-end/back-end expertise). They are versatile in how they can add value, demonstrating the ability to manage the completion of projects that involve databases, backend services or the development of front-end applications. They should be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of emerging technologies to support the development of new solutions. Software Engineers understand the full technology stack and underlying applications, services, and databases in order to ensure optimal performance.

This Software Engineer will have knowledge of SAP ABAP, SAPUI5, and Fiori design principles to create intuitive and efficient Fiori apps. Their responsibilities will include designing, developing, and deploying solutions that enhance user experience and optimize business operations.

ROLE

● Develops the conceptual systems architecture design and the supporting technologies needed to enable new and/or enhanced functionality within a given product/application; applying principles that promote availability, reusability, interoperability, and security into the design framework.

● Supports release planning activities in conjunction with Product Owners and teams.

● Identifies high level requirements to support the definition and refinement of a robust testing strategy.

● Supports the Product Owner with the identification and definition of enablers / work items to support the architectural runway of a given product/application.

● Defines the non-functional requirements (e.g., performance, security, resiliency, etc.) which support the development of epics and user stories aligned to a value stream.

● Identifies technical dependencies across several product / application teams to support the implementation of new or enhanced functionality.

● Develops quality code and its associated documentation, adhering to team and departmental development standards.

● Designs and implements ABAP CDS views to expose data from SAP S/4HANA to Fiori applications.

● Collaborates with analysts, designers, and system owners in the testing of SAP software programs and applications.

● Provides SAP support, including analysis, development, testing, tracking, and resolution.

● Mentors team members on SAP programming concepts and tool suite.

● Participates in team activities and team planning in regards to improving team skills, awareness, and quality of work.

● Analyzes user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints, including the ability to estimate work needed.

● Assesses functional and nonfunctional requirements and creates designs to meet both, business and technical needs.

● Creates conceptual and detailed technical design documents.

● Adheres to security management practices and promotes established security standards.

● Continues personal growth in the areas of technology, business knowledge, and Costco policies and platforms.

REQUIRED

● Minimum 10 years’ of experience in SAP (ABAP) development.

● 5+ years’ of experience in Fiori/Ui5 development for SAP S/4 HANA.

● Strong experience in custom developed UI5 apps (transactional, reporting, dashboard) + SAP Fiori app library enablement.

● Understanding of SAP Gateway architecture, Fiori role concept, launchpad designing, wireframing/prototyping (with tools such as Axure, SAP BUILD, etc.).

● Experience using WebIDE, GIT, theme designer, as well as HTML, Javascript, CSS.

● Detailed in-depth technical ABAP knowledge coupled with solid, all-round, hands-on experience in Fiori.

● Experience with NW Gateway, OData service development.

● Ability to debug and troubleshoot Fiori applications.

● Experience in Configuration of Fiori Launchpad.

● Good understanding of the software development process with a focus on producing high quality code.

● Ability to interface with other developers to ensure that systems are designed for reliability, performance, and testability.

● Team player, good interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills. Creative, likes challenges.

● Able to support off-hours work as required, including weekends, holidays, and 24/7 on call responsibilities on a rotational basis.
