Job Summary
Process Month-end duties include preparation and completion of Journal Entries and Financial Reports relating to Revenue Accounting and Gross to Net deductions, including Customer Rebates, Wholesaler Chargebacks, GPO Fees. Actively engage with Commercial, Finance and Sales contacts to understand operations that support Gross to Net deductions and related systems. Support Year-end Audit by creating and updating schedules to support financial results. Perform Account Reconciliations that substantiate the values on the Balance Sheet for Gross to Net accounts.Ensure processes produce correct GAAP accounting and have sufficient documentation for both the procedure and the purpose, relating to Revenue Accounting, specifically ASC 606.
For Revenue and Gross to Net reserves: own key process such as Month-end, Account Reconciliations, Year-end Audit, etc.; support business initiatives that impact accounting and systems; and lead continuous improvement efforts across accounting function across our entities.
Job Description
CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Year-end audit support including updating SAP, preparing/updating schedules, and providing auditor requests for Revenue and Gross to Net deductions.
- Prepare and/or approve monthly close data, journal entries, and account reconciliation for revenue and gross to net. Analyze operating financials, interpret results and recommend a plan of action to improve the accounting process.
- Perform Account Reconciliations designed to provide a Strong Control on the Balance Sheet and obtain variance explanation for trends and results from respective process owners.
- Serve as backup for key individual(s) in the Corporate Accounting Department.
- Provide Accounting (GAAP and Medline Internals) and process expertise to the company for revenue and gross to net areas, including educating Commercial, Finance and Sales business partners on the same.
- Lead continuous improvement efforts across accounting function including Commercial Finance business partners for gross to net reserve analytics.
- Act as corporate owner of a the revenue and gross to net key accounting process and provide guidance and support to our business partners for same. Examples include Consolidations, Month end/Year end schedule, Account Reconciliations, and Accounting Reserves Master Data.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
Relevant Work Experience
- At least 2 years of Corporate Accounting / Manufacturing Accounting experience.
Additional
- Expertise in GAAP and ASC 606 accounting for revenue and gross to net deductions, including internal controls
- Experience at a large manufacturing, distribution, or other life sciences company.
- Able to work with large amounts of data; Advanced level skill in Microsoft Excel (for example: PowerPivot, PowerQuery, index/match, pivot tables, multiple if statements, financial modeling)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
- Master's degree in Accounting or Finance.
Certification / Licensure
- CPA, CGMA, CMA
Relevant Work Experience
- Strong competency with Visual Basic to write or develop Macros.
- Strong expertise in overall GAAP and ASC 606 Revenue Accounting.
- Sarbanes Oxley 404 (SOX) internal controls experience, heavily focused on revenue accounting.
- SAP, AS400, and QAD system experience; SAP strongly preferred.
- Change Management experience.
- Project Management experience.
- International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) experience.

The anticipated salary range for this position:
$79,560.00 - $115,440.00 AnnualThe actual salary will vary based on applicant's location, education, experience, skills, and abilities. This role is bonus and/or incentive eligible. Medline will not pay less than the applicable minimum wage or salary threshold.
