Job Summary
The Senior SaaS Architect brings considerable experience, knowledge and background in software system design, relevant standards, and best practices to innovate and publish forward-looking architecture definitions which are aligned with SaaS offerings of the future. You leverage your technical background, strategic thinking, and analytic skills to successfully deliver innovative and creative solutions that meet the emerging needs of the business.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Leverage cloud native design paradigms to deliver a high performing flexible deployment architecture blueprint which is strategically aligned with Sorenson business goals.
- Develop an in-depth understanding of existing and emerging standards and ensure growth across a wide-range of SaaS Products.
- Acquire an understanding of existing implementations & their associated limitations and challenges.
- Assess how organizations are performing and help them improve their processes and systems.
- Conduct research and analysis in order to design solutions for business challenges and introduce these solutions to business teams.
- Assist the team tasked with forging a path to a standards-based convergence platform for the company.
- Build Guilds that distribute knowledge throughout the company on user proficiency, latest technology, and best practices.
- Regularly add to the SaaS implementation or code base, especially around the more complex and company success or security sensitive areas.
- Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but does serve as a coach and mentor for other positions in the department.

Education
- 4 Year / Bachelors Degree. In related discipline, e.g., electrical engineering or computer science.
Experience
- 8 Related experience in system design and architecture of SaaS solutions. MS/MA degree in related discipline accepted for 2 years of experience, Ph.D for 5 years experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Expert understanding of software algorithms, structures, and patterns.
- Expert in object-oriented design and analysis skills.
- Experience and understanding of public cloud offerings and best practices such as those used in Atlassian, TestRail, Github, Bitbucket, AWS, Azure, Google, container-based deployments, and orchestration.
- Knowledge of emerging trends in SaaS architecture or products.
- Knowledge in API standards and how to provide integrations with your own products as well as integrations with 3rd parties.
- Experience building products that customers love to use.
- Experience with the various App Stores and best practices on both Android and iOS.
- Proven ability leading development efforts that require partnership with other technical groups, business units and industry partners.
- Proven ability developing “future proof” plans that integrate directly with product/system development lifecycles and provide flexibility to deliver on use cases that are not presently fully understood.
- Proven ability developing information security reporting mechanisms that enable informed business decisions at varying levels of management.
- Understanding of Accessibility standards in software.
- Understanding of Machine Learning and how to adapt it into SaaS applications.
- Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD methodology.
- Naturally curious, results-driven, self-starter who thrives in a dynamic environment.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit and/or stand at a desk and work with a computer for extended periods of time.
- Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, tools, and to handle other computer components.
- Regular and predictable attendance required.
