The Senior Manager Maintenance and Engineering role is a member of the site leadership team at the chemical and mining sites. This role is responsible for establishing, leading and monitoring site-level strategic objectives to ensure they deliver the intended results on time, lead the development, implementation and improvement of maintenance strategies, workflow management systems, engineering project management and problem-solving support to close performance gaps, creating alignment between business unit and site objectives, between internal and external customers, and across the operations and maintenance teams within the facility and business unit. Site capital Liaison for both budgeting and establishing Turn Around calendar along with priorities.
What will you do?
- Support the site in achieving all operational goals (safety, quality, production, costs) by aligning and managing technical resources allocated to that specific site (plant performance, workflow, electrical and instrumentation performance) and utilizing business unit functional centralized resources (process, project, continuous improvement, reliability, other) as needed. Leads and assists the sites with the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of maintenance systems and processes in accordance with relevant codes, standards, and best practices. Provides oversight and guidance on Opex/CapEx budgeting and spending. May be indirectly responsible for $20MM to #200MM of CapEx and/or Opex budget.
- Provide coaching, mentoring and work direction for the technical support team to meet site objectives and develop technical talent for both the site and business unit. This will be accomplished by managing, mentoring and developing their team of production engineers (3-6 engineers), workflow superintendent, RCRA Coordinator, electrical and instrumentation superintendent.
- Provide leadership, technical expertise and problem-solving resources to understand, affect, support and promote the closure of performance gaps. This will be accomplished by building a highly-proficient team that is customer service and results oriented. In addition, the role is responsible for working collaboratively across departments, functional groups and the business unit to solve problems around personnel, safety, environment, business processes, chemical processes (sulfuric, phosphoric and granulation processes), operational processes, and overall performance. Utilizing business acumen and operational leadership experience to establish long-term strategies and prioritize competing objectives.
- Provide facilitation expertise to lead cross functional teams (department, site, commercial, operations, maintenance, EHS, centralized resources) at the site and for the business.
- Significantly contribute to plant strategic direction to achieve performance goals for the site.
What do you need for this role?
Bachelor's in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Mining), Business Management, Business Administration is required.
Master's in Mine Engineering, Engineering, Business Administration, Business Management
8-10 years of experience in related fields.
