POSITION SUMMARY:

This position will lead technology strategy, oversee product development, and advance acceleration projects at the Mitsubishi Electric Innovation Center. This role focuses on integrating technology with business innovation to create impactful, market-ready solutions.

The ideal candidate will bring a deep background in creating new products, with at least 15 years of hands-on work and leadership experience. They will manage the development of acceleration projects, lead a technical product development team, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable products. Proficiency in cloud-based architectures (AWS and Azure), IoT systems, and software technologies including Java, JavaScript, Python, and React is essential.

The essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Define and execute a technology strategy to drive innovation.
  • Collaborate with the business innovation team to align technical initiatives with strategic priorities and market opportunities.
  • Monitor emerging trends to identify technologies that can advance acceleration projects.
  • Lead technical execution of acceleration projects within the innovation center, ensuring scalability and alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Drive rapid development and validation of new product concepts to prepare them for market entry or internal scaling.
  • Integrate feedback from stakeholders and external partners to refine and optimize project outcomes.
  • Oversee the architectural design and development of internally incubated products.
  • Define product scope, requirements, and user stories to meet current and future market demands.
  • Drive the development of IoT-based systems, cloud solutions, and software applications using Java, JavaScript, Python, and React.
  • Ensure best practices in software development, deployment, and lifecycle management.
  • Manage and mentor a technical product development team, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
  • Maintain consistent communication with leadership to track project progress and address challenges.
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing and collaboration across projects to leverage insights and maximize efficiencies.
  • Identify opportunities to expand the company's intellectual property portfolio
  • Perform other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • At least 15 years of hands-on work and leadership experience in creating new products, with a proven track record of delivering innovative and scalable solutions.
  • A minimum of a MSc. degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent field.
  • Expertise in IoT systems, cloud architectures (e.g., AWS), and software technologies including Java, JavaScript (React.js), Python.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills to inspire teams and work effectively across departments.
  • Experience in startup incubation, venture building, or managing innovation projects.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $156,000 and $214,500/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including commissions based on achieving individual performance and/or sales metrics, incentive compensation and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these additional compensation and benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
