JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the Engineering-Body, Part-Time Student will engage in a variety of work experiences applying their theoretical knowledge to real world business challenges. This role will typically support one or more experienced engineers completing moderately complex tasks in a production and/or production design engineering environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support team mates on current and future engineering projects as assigned
• Assist/lead troubleshooting production challenges/improvement opportunities with minimal supervision
• Support Design Engineers with CAD & drawing accuracy and manufacturability
• Complete basic engineering tasks related to product design, analysis, testing, integration and systems engineering
• Under the supervision of an experienced engineer, perform analysis on existing products; assist in the design and development of future products; perform analysis on both completed and future launches; and conduct quality assurance on system safety, launch and production operations
• Engage in projects and/or studies that promote continuous improvement and operational efficiency
• Showcase learnings obtained during the internship program by presenting outcomes of key projects to members of the Engineering leadership team and/or members of Blue Bird’s Executive Leadership Team

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES FOR SUCCESS

• Familiarity with CAD software (3DX preferred)
• Able to work a minimum of 20 hours per week

BASIC EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• Minimum GPA of 3.0
• Junior, Senior or Graduate level student pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

• CATIA experience
