Our client in Mooresville, NC is looking for a Marketing and Communications Coordinator to join their team on a 3 month contract. This position is approximately 30-40 hours a week and onsite 2-3 days a week.
This is an exciting opportunity to create content and work on various marketing, communications, and social media campaigns. The ideal candidate will have a passion or interest in local government and community outreach.
Duties of the Marketing and Communications Coordinator:
- Manage, schedule and post content on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, NextDoor, etc
- Obtain approvals on social media content
- Create print and digital collateral from templates i.e. flyers, social media graphics, banners, monthly newsletters
- Write press releases for events, road closures, planned activities
- Attend local events to generate content for various social media channels
- Find photos from the archive/database for social media and marketing collateral to promote events or local issues
- Collect relevant content from key stakeholders for campaigns
- Audit the previous year's content calendars to pre-plan content needs for 2025 i.e. Memorial Day events, Fourth of July parade, etc
- Layout monthly newsletter insert using InDesign template
- Assist in developing content for internal communications
Requirements of the Marketing and Communications Coordinator:
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English, Marketing, Communications
- A minimum of 1 year of professional or internship experience
- Experience managing social media channels
- Experience writing captions, press releases, etc
- Knowledge of Adobe CC
- Passion for local events and interest in creating content to promote community engagement
