- Provides day to day oversight of the LSC team, including coordination and responsibility for the delivery of support services outlined below:
- Large shipment reception
- Chemical and supply inventory and maintenance
- Employee on-boarding and off-boarding training on Lab Operations-specific functions
- Participate in Safety (SHE) lab walk throughs and communicate findings to lab staff for implementation
- Reorganize lab spaces when needed to create safer and more efficient environments
- Coordinate installation and removal of equipment
- Point of contact for scheduled preventative maintenance for all equipment, escort external vendors for onsite PMs when necessary, and provide vendors with supplies needed for PM where appropriate
- Submit Facilities work orders and IT tickets when needed
- Communicate equipment repair needs and down time to lab staff
- Coordinate annual pipette calibrations
- Responsible for performing all tasks that the Lab Support Coordinators provide, based on client demand.
- Provide a direct link between Lab Operations and departmental scientists.
- Ensure staff is compliant with all contractual, safety and job-specific regulations & requirements.
- Relays expectations of customer service standards and ensures team goals are being met.
- Ability to troubleshoot problems within the system and recommend improvements.
- Assists clients in planning of KPI Improvement and efficiency projects and ensures their implementation by the Lab Supplies team.
- Coordinates and manages project tasks to ensure delivery within allotted timelines.
- Completes routine safety tasks/meetings with Lab Supplies Technicians.
- Develops basic understanding of customer computer systems (SAP, Intranet, and customer specific systems) in fulfillment of job duties.
- Updates Standard work practice documentation as changes are implemented.
- Meets goals and objectives for safety, performance and quality.
- Organize, analyze and present metrics and KPI data to the Technical Laboratory Services Manager with reportable performance data and level of service.
- Provide input regarding training and standard workflow documentation.
- Apply the necessary troubleshooting techniques to resolve discrepancies.
- May be asked to provide on-call service (primary and secondary) for specific research units in the lab areas. Hours are between 5:00pm-7:30am Monday thru Sunday. Tasks include but are not limited to transfer of contents from failing freezers, fridges and incubators to designated back up units, photograph original items, properly document failure, provide a work order of failing unit to facilities team and inform respective end-users about the transfer via email based on the SOP instructions.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor Degree in Business or Science with 1+ years of experience in a laboratory environment related to above responsibilities OR
- Associate Degree in Business or Science with 3+ years of experience in a laboratory environment related to above responsibilities OR
- High School Degree/GED with 5+ years of experience in a laboratory environment related to above responsibilities
Preferred Qualifications:
- Solid understanding of how R&D laboratories function and has a proven track record of supporting those activities at various complexity levels
- 2+ years of coordinating resource activity in a service role in support of pharmaceutical R&D Scientists
- Background in a laboratory setting with a Chemistry/Biology focus
Working Environment:
- Must be able to work in a laboratory, controlled environments requiring personal protective equipment (e.g., lab coat, safety glasses, etc.) in laboratory.
- Job pace may be fast and job completion demands may be high.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position more than 25% of the time
- The person needs to occasionally move between labs, corridors, adjoining rooms, and buildings onsite.
- Frequently operate on instruments, objects, tools or controls, which will require regularly bending, squatting, stretching and reaching in order to perform in a service function.
- Occasionally move or lift up to 25 pounds (potential for occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds).
- Specific vision abilities required by this position include without limitation, the ability to observe details at close range distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus in order to perform the essential service functions of this position.
- Occasionally operates a computer and other office machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
- Employee may be required to handle hazardous waste according to local, state, and federal regulations. Duties may include identifying, handling, generating, accumulating, storing and labeling hazardous waste.
The annualcompensation range for this full-time position is $70000.00 to $85,000.00. The final base pay offered to the successful candidate will be determined by factors including internal equity, work location, as well as individual qualifications, such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
