In the Information Technology Department, the GIS/Data Intern will assist in collecting, updating, and maintaining geospatial and related non-spatial data sets for the Metropolitan Airport Commission's (MAC) centralized data environment. Working in a dynamic 24/7/365 airport setting, the intern will gain experience with geospatial software and technologies like GPS and LIDAR scanners and learn about the critical behind-the-scenes efforts needed to support airport operations and enterprise data sets.
The GIS/Data internship is 12-weeks, beginning in June and ending mid-August.

Position Description
- Capture, create, maintain, troubleshoot, and support enterprise geospatial data in accordance with enterprise data standards, policies, and project requirements.
- Utilize geospatial software and technologies such as GPS and LIDAR scanners to collect and maintain geospatial data.
- Troubleshoot and maintain enterprise data products such as maps, applications, and dashboards in accordance with IT standards, policies, and project requirements.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Currently enrolled or graduated within the last 12 months from a graduate or undergraduate degree program in Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Geospatial Information Systems, or a related field.
- Experience using Microsoft office software, e.g., Word, PowerPoint.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Reliable vehicle to commute between job sites.
DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS
- Experience with ESRI or other geospatial technologies.
- Experience working with large amounts of data.
