Through research programs funded by science and technology R&D organizations within the U.S. Department of Defense, the research and development team in FAST Labs collaborate across the enterprise. On this team, you'll have the opportunity to create and develop advanced technology capabilities in the areas of advanced electronics, autonomy, cyber, electronic warfare, and sensors and processing.

About the Role:
FastLABs Engineering is seeking a Chief Engineer to join an existing program team within our Microelectronics Product Line. As a member of this team, you will collaborate with Microelectronics scientist, engineers, industry associates and internal transition partners to provide critical technology discriminators to the Sector and innovative solutions challenging national security problems.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Take ownership of the technical solution in terms of program execution
  • Ensure technical integrity and engineering execution across the programs.
  • Translate EW Concepts and requirements to microelectronic device designers and developers.
  • Partner with technical counterparts of our internal transition customers to understand their technical road maps and future needs to inform future microelectronic requirements, MOP, KPPs and KSAs.
  • Ensuring appropriate level of rigor is applied to achieve systems the meet customer needs in an R&D environment.


Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 10 years work experience or equivalent experience
  • Strong knowledge EW Systems and Techniques
  • Strong fundamentals in high speed data converters and software defined radio signal chain
  • Experience with RF and Mixed signal systems design and debug
  • Strong basics in data converters, mixed signal and processor-based systems. Knowledge of RF, PLL, Filter domains is a plus.
  • Familiarity with key RF specifications (such as IIP3, NF, SNR, SFDR etc.) is preferred
  • Understanding in software programming languages such as C, Python and the ability to create/leverage applications programming interface.
  • Familiarity with DSP theory and algorithms (FFT, Sampling rates, Filtering, equalizers, NCO, DDC, QEC etc). Knowledge of DPD and FPGA domains is a plus.
  • Ability to derive/apply specifications for system solutions
  • Knowledge of power management and packaged parts and PCB solutions for high speed systems.
  • Ability to interact and collaborate with customer engineering groups for defining products, system solutions and demonstration of product capabilities via technical training, presentations


Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Knowledge of photonics
  • Knowledge of digital processing systems
  • Knowledge of AI based signal processing
  • Holding an active or eligible TS clearance


Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $146670 - $249330

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
