Director Procurement Insights and Analytics
Job Description Summary:
As a critical leader within the Strategic Ingredients Sourcing (SIS) Team, the Director of Procurement, Strategic Insights and Data Analytics will play a pivotal role in advancing the modernization and digitization of the SIS end-to-end procurement process. The role will drive efficiency, effectiveness and value creation through the implementation and continuous improvement of key workstreams around Sourcing, Strategy, Negotiation, and Risk Management. The Director will project manage digital transformation efforts, leveraging the network effect and collaborating closely with various internal and external stakeholders. This role will have sourcing management responsibilities and will develop a strong understanding of the procurement process and global sourcing strategies.
Function Related Activities/Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Strategy:
- Play a key role in developing and executing the strategic vision for procurement insights and analytics.
- Foster a culture of technical innovation and continuous improvement.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration to integrate procurement insights with broader business strategies.
Data Management and Analytics:
- Oversee the development and implementation of advanced analytics tools, KPIs, and predictive models to generate insights from procurement data.
- Ensure data integrity and accuracy across all procurement systems and databases.
- Advise on the deployment of user-friendly advanced analytics solutions.
- Utilize SQL, programming languages (e.g., Python, R), and database skills to manage SIS data and develop insights and visualizations.
- Expertise in data visualization and business intelligence tools like Microsoft Power BI is essential. Knowledge of ETL processes, data warehousing, data mining, and data cleansing.
Process Improvement:
- Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements within procurement operations.
- Champion the adoption of best practices for data management and analytics to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Lead the implementation of new digital solutions and standards to streamline procurement operations.
Strategic Sourcing:
- Leverage data analytics to identify sourcing opportunities, select suppliers, and conduct effective negotiations.
- Collaborate with procurement managers and category leaders to integrate data-driven insights into sourcing decisions.
Market Intelligence:
- Monitor and analyze market trends, supplier landscapes, and price movements to anticipate risks and opportunities.
- Provide strategic recommendations based on market intelligence to support proactive decision-making.
Stakeholder Management:
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders to align on strategic initiatives and drive collaborative efforts.
- Act as a point of contact for procurement analytics initiatives, presenting insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
- Manage relationships with key technical suppliers and partners to ensure alignment with team goals.
Note this is hybrid work with 3 days in the office required.
Education & Related Work Experience:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, data or computer science, or related field.
- Experience with SQL, Azure Synapse, Programming Languages – Python, ETL processes and tools.
- 10+ years’ work experience in a field related to this work.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and projects.
Nice to have:
- Degree or work experience in supply chain/procurement.
- Experience with SAP, especially S/4 HANA.
- Skilled using other programming languages such as R and DAX.
- Experience using Django to develop and implement an interactive website.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage and mentor a team.
- Expertise in data analytics, including proficiency in SQL, programming languages (e.g., Python, R), and database management.
- Strong communication and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills with experience in cross-functional collaboration and building and leveraging your network.
- Ability to lead digital transformation efforts, implementation of new technologies, and drive adoption and change management for the team.
