Communications Specialist Position #: 00104798 LOCATION: Grand Forks, ND, (preferred) or Fargo, ND, telework options available TYPE OF APPOINTMENT: This is a full-time, 12-month, benefited position in the 4000/Paraprofessional broadband, non-exempt from FLSA (overtime eligible). JOB SUMMARY: The North Dakotas University Systems Core Technology Services (CTS) team is looking for the perfect person to fill the role of Communications Specialist. CTS is the central IT for the 11 public colleges and universities in North Dakota. The communications specialist performs a range of communications and marketing related work which may include print, social media, web content, or multi-media. This position will be primarily responsible for crafting and managing consistent messaging across all organizational communications, ensuring alignment with the brand identity through the creation and maintenance of comprehensive documentation, including internal and external materials, while collaborating with different teams to maintain a cohesive brand image across all touchpoints. CTS provides many of the products that help our students succeed in getting their degrees. Our mission is to provide trusted technical and professional services to support the strategic goals of the North Dakota State Board of Higher Education. The Communications Specialist assists our teams to develop vital communications throughout our organization. Minimum Qualifications: Postsecondary coursework in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field or equivalent combination of education, directly related training, and work experience. Demonstrated written, oral, and editing skills. Strong understanding of brand management principles. Proven communication and interpersonal skills. Attention to detail and ability to maintain consistency. Digital literacy and proficiency in content management systems. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization. Preferred Qualifications: Associates Degree or higher Experience working in higher education. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar software products. A communications, public relations, or marketing certification or the willingness to work toward one of these certifications.
