Located in culturally rich and diverse Ann Arbor, the department has over 100 clinical and research faculty and more than 500 employees in 10 different locations in Southeast Michigan. We are seeking to enhance our faculty by adding a pediatric optometrist to join our team of providers at one of our community sites in Pontiac, Michigan in a dynamic and creative academic environment. Proficiency and residency training in pediatric primary eye care is required. Applicants should be willing to work in more than one office setting, evenings, and/or weekends as needed.
This faculty appointment as a clinician at Michigan Medicine in the University of Michigan Medical School is ideal for those who thrive in seeing challenging cases, fostering interprofessional relationships, and pursuing academic prowess. We welcome applicants to apply who are residency-trained in pediatric primary eye care and Michigan licensed or eligible. This full-time position can be either on the clinical or instructional track depending on individual qualifications and career aspirations. Required Qualifications*
Successful candidates will have an MD PhD degree, or equivalent, in areas as described above. Documentation of scholarly ability and achievement (record of publications in peer-reviewed journals; record of acquisition of external funding for research programs, research plan, collaborative research experience) is expected. Preferred candidates will have a demonstrated interest in graduate and post-doctoral education and possess critical teaching skills.

Background Screening
Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.
