DUTIES: Design and implement BI (Business Intelligence) software and systems, including integration with data lakes and data warehouses; contribute to an enterprise-wide BI solution that will provide advanced analytics, data mining of sales, traffic, and other data assets for various uses within the company as well as client facing reporting; evaluate existing environment including software, tools, web portals, internet and intranet connections, firewalls, servers, size and data needs, user experience, security, and budget to determine the components for a BI solution that is aligned with the business goals for data and reporting; provide expertise assistance to IT personnel; conduct research on new BI and DW (Data Warehouse) technologies to create and develop plans for investing in such systems that will increase cost effectiveness and flexibility; utilize BI to create error checking alerts, checks and balances to ensure system integrity for each source and target to maximize system performance and reliability; responsible for new development of Power BI or porting of Business Objects and other reporting platforms; develop and convert ETL jobs from other applications/platforms to Talend in Hadoop/SQL Server environments; develop data marts to support a consolidated analytical data warehouse; work with Product Owners and Data Scientists to anticipate and support research and data needs with a focus on empowered self-service to the key constituents; act as an evangelist for BI – protect, support, exposes and share with others to get more usage and value of the data and help others turn it into knowledge and insight; support leadership with due diligence/acquisition from data integration aspects; create and present to senior leaders’ relevant BI topics/issues; represent the company with presentations to industry/peer groups on BI expertise.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer or Electronic Engineering, or a related field, and 3 years of experience in the job offered or as a software engineer/developer, data warehouse engineer, ETL developer, or in a related/similar position. Experience therein to include 3 years with BI development in a large (10TB+) enterprise data warehouse environment, and using SQL, Talend, and Microsoft SQL Server. Telecommute role, may work remotely from anywhere in the US.
