Qualifications:

OBJECTIVE/PURPOSE: The Battelle House Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the program, including, but not limited to, supervision of staff, coordination of client services, household management, and adherence to all regulations. Battelle House Manager provides a wide variety of clinical and case management services to persons served, including clinical services, case management services, support, rehabilitative skill building, therapeutic interventions, and advocacy in accordance with the Mental Health Provider Manual written and mandated by the Vermont Department of Mental Health.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

STAFF DEVELOPMENT/SUPERVISION: The Battelle House Manager recruits and interviews potential candidates, along with the CMO. Schedule staff to ensure sufficient coverage and minimize use of overtime. Orients and trains staff in all areas including, but not limited to, fire safety and evacuation procedures, household operations, record-keeping/charting, incident reporting, grocery shopping/meal preparation, finances, regulations, and licensing and individual specific. Identifies additional training requirements and arranges for training to occur. Maintain documentation of staff training. Provide supervision of staff through individual and group meetings and role-modeling.

PROGRAM COORDINATIOR/PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT: The Battelle House Manager completes individual evaluations. Attends team meetings as scheduled. Serves as liaisons between programs, and professional staff when developing program services for individuals. Ensures completion of all documentation in a timely fashion. Evaluates individual programs for effectiveness. Ensures program services and supports are being carried out consistently. Order house supplies and schedule maintenance.

RECORDKEEPING: The Battelle House Manager supervises the timely and accurate completion of staff's paperwork. Completes required daily, weekly, and monthly paperwork requirements. Monitors records to ensure files are complete and up to date, including staff timecards. Completes required licensing documentation and paperwork. Battelle House Manager will work with Clinical Program Manager of Emergency Services to determine appropriate admissions to Battelle House, goals for treatment, and daily programming specific to each client.

DIRECT SERVICE: The Battelle House Manager provides clinical support and case consultation alongside other members of UCS Emergency Services. Assist in pre-screening, triaging, and appropriately routing crisis calls. Battelle House Manager will also ensure that appropriate support and verbal de-escalation be provided to crisis callers when appropriate. Battelle House Manager will elevate calls to the Emergency Clinician when indicated. Battelle House manager will ensure that bed calls, referrals, and prior authorizations for inpatient psychiatric hospitalization are conducted. They ensure the delivery of appropriate information to receiving facilities via fax or secure email.

MEDICATION ADMINISTRATION: The Battelle House Manager provides basic medical care including checking vital signs upon admission/discharge and assisting the UCS nursing and medical staff with other appropriate duties. CRS will be trained and then medication delegated. They will assist nursing and medical teams with obtaining and administering medications. This may include helping clients pick up medications.

CLIENT IDENTIFICATION AND OUTREACH: The Battelle House Manager provides outreach services to members of the community in need. Provides protection and advocacy of client rights, whenever possible. Provides persons served and families with referral information and assistance to meet needs not assured by our agency.
